      Try swapping the doc feeder unit. I had one last year that had everything changed or swapped out of it, so all that was left was the frame. My DSS was stumped and after replacing the entire feeder, problem went away. OurS would hang up during a scan and just sit there until reboot. Do all the CCD tests in simulations? Firmware up to date?

          Do a color scan of a test chart. I had a machine that would take for freaking ever to pull from the document feeder. It would sit there for almost 5-10 seconds bouncing the optics back and forth then finally pull the sheet.

          Mine had a screwed up CCD. Sharp had me replace the entire optics section.

          If your scan looks messed up like that you have optics problems.

          If your machine has old firmware and your are using IMAGE SEND with LONG SIZE as the original type the machine will freeze up and only a reboot will get it going again.

                  i had the same problem on a smaler coper,maybe related

                  is there a setting for copy lamp to stay on all the time,if is swith it on

                      Isn't first copy time using the RSPF about 10 sec with this model? I thought that was normal.

                          I would agree with the FIRST copy on startup but ive seen them do that copy after copy.
