    evelopes wrinkling

I have an MX C311 wrinkling evelopes. I know there are soft switch setting to adjust pressure. I was wondering if anyone knows what they are.

Not the soft switches but this may help. FYI last time I went to the soft switches on a sharp MX series machine for this issue, it was already set to the lightest pressure.

Subject: Poor Adhesion when Printing and Parts Change to Prevent Wrinkling on Envelopes.

Symptom: In the assembling operation of the upper heat roller in the fusing unit, the pressure by the external heating frame unit may cause the upper HR bearing stopper F and R to be secured properly.
The unstable fixation of the upper HR bearing stopper F and R may not allow a sufficient gap to be left between the upper heat roller and the lower heat roller during the operation of printing envelopes, which can result in developing wrinkles on envelopes or poor adhesion in printing.
In some cases, the development of wrinkles on envelopes or poor adhesion in printing can be attributed to specific use environments.

Description: In order to enhance the adhesion of printing and to prevent wrinkles on envelopes, the shape of the upper HR bearing stoppers F and R has been changed to create the appropriate gap between the upper and the lower heat rollers.
The above alteration involved the modification of the setting value of Sim43-1 (adhesion temperature).
For the field, just modifying the setting value of Sim43-1 (adhesion temperature) to this second value, without replacing the upper HR bearing stopper F and R, enables the performance improvements.
The alteration to the SIM 43-1 and the modification to the upper HR bearings take effect only for the recommended envelopes such as Monarch, Com-10, DL, or C5; not for other types.

Also it wouldn't hurt to try several different types of envelopes.

We have had 2 of these and the bearings fixed the issue both times.

A bulletin regarding this is out this week:

        Subject: Wrinkled Envelopes
Symptom: Wrinkling may occur on certain brands of envelopes when feeding from the bypass tray.
Solution: Replace two bearings NBRGY0719FCZZ with NBRGY0818FCZZ (Section 27 Item 12 in the
        MXC402SC parts guide).

Replace the bearings mentioned above and change fuser temperature to the modified values noted in previous bulletins. It should correct the problem.
