    Sharp mx5500 color registration

    Greetings one and all,

I am having trouble with color registration on the "Sharp MX 5500", The copier runs B/W registration just fine, It has new drums ( all ), charge units, ( all ) and developers ( all ) I found no visable issues with the Primary transfer unit or secondary transfer unit.
Allthough the color registration is off , the amount is very consistant.

is there a sequence of simulations I must follow to adjust, or could it be a problem requiring more parts replacements ?

I would be very greatful for any help with this problem.

thank you for taking your time to assist.

    Please explain............

-"the color registration is off , the amount is very consistant." -
Do you have sample you can post here ?

Why did you replace Drums & Dev?

When replacing Drum & Dev.............. did you reset the counters and Re-value the Dev ?

Have you then completed a FULL Colour calibration.. including Black and LSU skew checks?

Without the Full picture of what and why and resulting output, it is very difficult to give any precise solutions
    regards

dont know if you lookes at the primary transfer gear.if not slide out the unit out, take the gear off and check if it is chewed up in the inside

Rainmaker is correct. Check the Primary transfer unit drive gear. It is very common for this gear to break on the inside and cause color registration issues.

If it was the PTB drive gear failing, the Registration and Image density would not be constant, but would vary as the gear slipped over the shaped internal shaft. There is normally and associated noise with this problem also.

I am heading out this morning to take a look at the Gear, and run the recomended simulations.

thank you all so much for the replies, I will bring a sample to post if problem remains.

This may help out if you don't find the issue. It's good for all of the MX series machines.

                Good luck.

I want to thank everyone for the fast responce with this problem.......It was certainly the gear for the Primary transfer, I was very suprised to see just how bad it was chewed up, I will be stocking these for sure. Once I replaced the Gear and ran the Registration simulations the copies looked wonderful.

Again thanks to all of your support.
                  Have a great weekend !!!
