If it's an MXC311 and you're getting a persistent E7-11 code, best bet is to replace the whole scanner unit... Those things are just... Yeah, just get a new scanner unit... Makes me shudder just thinking about it.
As previously stated, an exact model etc. would be more helpful, and you might want to consider consulting the manual too, as e7-11 can be cleared with a sim 14 in most cases without need to follow up.

I agree with Akitu, get the whole scanner as the CCD only is a pain in the &#^. You can also try running shading execution in SIM 63 or clean and/or replace the memory chip on the SCN pwb. By chance, is this a 283-503 or a 623-753 made in the the past three months? The CCD's have changed and there are some issues with firmware conflicting with the changed part.
