MX-2610n strange stripes and blocks in prints

    Hi,

    I have a problem on a Sharp MX-2610n.
Our customers prints lot of books in color, for their product presentation.

They noticed a problem on some jobs, that there are stripes or blocks on the prints. (see attachment)
We updated the firmware, and try out to print from the document server, but without results.

I think this has something to do with memory, but I want a second opninion from you guys, before we change something.

    thx in advance!

We are currently getting the same problem on a mx 2600n and a few 5001n's and have not found a correction for this problem yet either.

It does look like a memory problem. Does this happen from internal prints? Does it do it in B/W? You also state that it is some print job. What file format and program are they using? Print driver version?

I still think these were rushed out and as technicians, we are the R & D.
I had a LVPS go last week on this model. When I looked up the part, Sharp is on its 3rd version of the board.
I asked tech support how this board could have blown with a surge protector and 8 fuses imbedded in the board. He just chuckled and told me I would need to speak to an engineer about that one.

Like Mojorolla said, what file format they using, software, driver ?

Something like a updated version of acrobat reader with a outdated version of the print driver could cause this.

Did they try switching between pcl and PS see if problem happen with both driver ?

Adobe Reader X is a dog. I had it for 2 days before downgrading back to version 9.

The blocks (Common) on the second image can be fixed with driver settings, if its an older driver, try 4 bit printing, newer driver, try changing the rendering intent ie. relative, saturation match, absolute colometric ect.. I'd say the first image is a memory issue.

                hi all
                try this solution

Symptom: Intermittent black stripe, only when using copy mode
Cause: Check if a section of LEDs within the scanner lamp unit fail to light.
Replace the LED PWB (PG Section 14, Item 4 -CPWBN1927FCE1) if required
                good luck

The document is a pdf file, and we are using the latest pcl6 driver. Also firmware has been updated.
Tomorrow we will replace the memory.

The problem only occurs when there are pictures in the document i think.
We do not have problems with copyfunction, only printing.

I didn't think you still can choose between 1 bit and 4 bit printing with the original driver for this machine. Only choice between photo and text.

@ Sharpshooter: Do you mean bitmap?

There's no Postscript option activated, so should this be different with a postscript driver?
I never thought that this works, printing with the PS driver without PS option, does it?

                      anyway, thx for the respons.

Have you tried printing the file using the "Raster" graphic mode? You could also try "text to black" or "vector to black" settings. Also the "download as bitmap font" setting. I believe all these are found under the Advanced tab of the driver.

I ment if you press Advanced under the Print menu and select Print as Image. I have hade the same trouble at a customer and I just updated the firmware too and it helped. But try changning the memory and see if it helps. Please let me know how it goes.
