    Sharp MX-M310N

I have installed 256mb DIMM and obtained the product activation keys. But i still get error 936. I realised just now i need to take the RAM to 128MB but the Copier will not accept any SDRAM i install.
Can the copier work with the normal 128MB SDRAM used inside PC? Pls help.

We got some of these that were just regular laptop memory and had no problem. Be sure you are putting the memory in the correct slot on the print control board not the PCU.

    Good luck.

Thanks Bil. I have installed 256MB on the Printer expansion board MX-PB12 but the Printer itself has 64MB. On which board do i install the additional 64MB or 128MB to take the copier RAM above 64MB?
There are 2 normal Desktop PC like SDRAM slot on the main board. I tried 128MB Kingston SDRAM on it but the copier fail to recognize the SIMMS.

Here is the setup procedure for that. We have used the 128 Mb SO Dimm but the 256 should work. What speed is the memory chip you are using. I believe it has to be PC133 to work correctly, not sure if the slower speeds will work or not. You shouldn't need to add any additional memory. Just enter the product key and your scan should be good to go. The Network Scanner product key tab will not show up unless you have the correct memory installed. If you are getting an error when trying to enter the product key verify that the serial number for the machine matches what you submitted for the product key (VERY important)!

        Good luck.

Thanks once again Bil. I have installed 256MB S.O DIMM memory module on the MX-NSX1 (Network Scanning Expansion Kit) and it is recognized by the copier. With this i was able to input the MX-NSX1 product keys i purchased. And i still got this error. Now i was told that the Copier RAM itself has to be increased to min. 128MB. That is my problem. On which board i'm i going to fix the additional RAM? Does it accept the normal PC SDRAM?

Interesting. I have not had to do this with the MXM260's. The system memory goes on the PCU board that is located on the rear left side of the copier, not where the print controller and fax boards are located. There should be an empty slot at the top of the board. Takes the normal PC SDRam module.
