    [Misc] Sharp MX2700 Finisher Problem

    Hi Guys,

Hope someone can shed some light on this issue.
Customer has MX2700 with MXFNX2 Saddle Stitch finisher, problem being when the machine is in warm-up as the upper tray of the finisher moves to its home position it travels approx 1 inch then the resetable trip on the DC controller of the MXFNX2 is tripped & the message 'Close finisher unit & covers' is displayed. All door interlocks are working correctly & as far as i can tell the finisher isnt under any undue load. Firmware is all up to date.
Incidentally there is no error code displayed but when put into simulation to check finisher sensors etc it displays F1-00 indicating communication trouble. Suggestions appreciated as always.

If memory serves me well it's the tray motor which is faulty and causes the trip to activate.
change the lift motor at least and the board also to be sure

      Hi

Replace the Finisher Lift Motor and reset CB1 on the Finisher Control PWB.

If the same symptom re-occurs after replacing the Lift Motor, replace the Finisher Control PWB.

Caution: Do NOT keep CB1 depressed during troubleshooting, as this may/will damage the Control PWB.

      good luck
