Sharp MX-M620N Paper Jam Problems ?

I keep on getting an paper jam right as the paper goes on to the drum - This drum has only 2181 copies on it.

I do see some back toner on the drum and when I pull out the jam paper there is black toner on the end of the paper.

    The jam codes are:

    POD1_1
    PFD2_SM1

What is the next step ?

Thanks for any help you can give me

i would check the transfer belt.i have seen them cause a problem.they get hard and dont rotate and causes the paper stay at the drum area.also i would check the fuser gear to make sure it turns with the fuser roller good luck

        hi
1-Intermittent operation of ADM1. Check the motor operation using Sim 9 (motor will stop rotating and make a loud noise).
        Replace the Driver PWB (CPWBN1568FCE1).
2-Add a washer to the separation roller shaft between the coupling and the eclip behind it to eliminate the play and hold the coupling into position not allowing a disengagement from the torque limiter.

The White Plastic Coupling on the Separation Roller Shaft, Part number CSFTZ2837DS51 (Section 25, Item 19 ) is not engaged into the Torque Limiter, Part number PCLC-0324FCZZ (Section 25, Item 28), causing no separation for the paper, causing a multi-feed condition.
        good luck

I spent several hours trying to figure out this same problem. Replaced reg clutch, rebuild drum, and many other things. The problem ended up being in the transfer belt shaft cover (PART 34 in parts manual under transfer section) were put in backwards causing a slight angle adjustment to the belt making it essentially pull the paper away from the drum and causing the jams you noted.

I would check the transfer belt first, if nothing is immediately seen then do the motor/clutch test to see if everything is working right

How to tell if the transfer belt needs to be replaced - I know it rubber. Is there anything I should be looking for ??

            Thanks !

The Transfer Belt Shaft Covers have a F or an R on them, R is for the rear and F is for the front. They need to be in the right location otherwise the belt is 2 or 3 degrees of the position it needs to be. But on further investigation this is not likely your problem as this usually didn't just stop it actually jammed and the paper would be deformed or folded.

There is also a Tech Bulletin (REP1113) that says there has been problems with jamming on the wholes on the picker fingers of the drum. If there are wholes in the picker fingers you have the bulletin suggests to replace them with solid fingers now. PTME-0300FCZZ is the part number for the new ones.

              Hope this helps

The easy way to check belt is to look at the back side, you will see cracks in the belt. If so replace. Also replace your drum sep pawls this will usually fix this problem. How Many pages on machine? Could be p/s unit or left door guide. The plastic wears down . Does this only happen from a certian tray?

Only 97K and the machine looks like it's brand new.

The problem was the belt was just stuck - I rolled it a couple of time and now its ok.
The belt look good and is not cracked.

Thanks for all your help and reply.
