I was called to a mxm450u on which the ops panel was locked out. When the buttons are pressed they double beep
but no other response. the screen looks ok but does not respond, except during startup. before the machine comes ready the screen buttons will operate until ready, then nothing.
I removed all boards and remade all connectors, now machine comes ready and operates but a service code and message
appears, U1-01. which is a fax battery failure. problem is machine doesn't have a fax. I changed the battery on the controller board but still have
message. touching the ok button on the screen clears the message and machine operates. message reappears after 1 minute.
nothing logged in error log.

any ideas out there?

well, of corse i think that you after change the batery in the control board you have reset the code with the sm, if not the code do not desapear.

sim U1-13 would clear the code if there was a fax in the machine.

i'm going to install a fax and run U1-13 to see if that clears the code and then remove the fax.

well, i was that issue with one same copier, and there is no fax to, and i replaced the batery in the in control board and i after i clear the code with the sm that clear u1 codes, i do not remenber now if was sm 15, or 14 , it easy see in the copier.

in my case the code desapear.
