    [Misc] MX2310 COUNTER RESET

Hi all you Sharp engineers out there does anybody have any idea how to reset the copy count on the new MX Range IE 2310/2610/3110 etc....
Sharp in all there wisdom have done away with the old CROP 89 code and wont tell......
All very well till you put a new copier out on trial and they do 35k in a month then hand it back.
Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated.....

      Re: MX2310 COUNTER RESET

I was told at my last Sharp training course, that it's no longer available for exactly this reason.

Also, why are you demoing machines for a month at a time? Seems like it's your own fault they're having that kind of mileage tacked on.

Fool you once, shame on them. Fool you twice, cut your losses and change your business model. Haha

With a mere 2 posts, I am guessing this is a sales rep who told his boss he could sell this machine and then didn't.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

My favourite part, was the condescending bash on Sharp and all "there" wisdom, but using the incorrect "their", really drives home the point when you attempt to knock someone, but can't use the correct homonym in your wisdom bashing insult.

Customer :"Can I axe you a question?"
Me: "Can I stab you an answer?" - at least that what I hear in my head...

              Now Come On!!
So all you so called engineers work for companies who only sell new kit?
No one else on this planet refurbs machines anymore?
what about being green and recycling?
What about giving a used copier a second life?
No Problem with that at all hey!!!
well you show me a customer who would take delivery of a copier with half a million copies on the clock!!

                Re: MX2310 COUNTER RESET

A second life is one thing but to deliberately alter the counters so the machine appears new is dishonest and not good business. Refurbishment means a cleaning and replacement of internal components. It does not entail changing counters or is it used to deceive potential customers. The deception is usually in what the salespeople say. If a customer buys a used machine, they expect their machine to have some miles on it; it is a USED MACHINE. I am curious why you would insult us "so called engineers" when you are looking for help. Maybe if the "so called sales rep" didn't run a month long demo, they wouldn't be in this "so called mess".

Also, many of my bigger machines PM at half a million. I have sold many machines with this amount or more on a machine.

Sorry to correct you on this but you just encountered a business that does exactly this, AND we are taking away business from companies that have your business model that sell "NEW" machines that have 500K copies. Being Green is not about screwing your next customer to make some Green!!

                    Re: MX2310 COUNTER RESET

When i buy a refurbished/used car i still want to know how many miles it has. If i was the customer i'd want to know what im getting into with a copier.

But as posted above, Sharp has not released that information on how to get into extended test commands.

They both have the word "green" in them, so in sales lingo it's one in the same.

Can't be done due to unethical people like OP attempting to reset meters and make old machines appear new. Sharp changed elevated sim procedure and is keeping very tight lipped about it. Resetting your copy count with 24-6 only resets the amount of copies made, but the full track record of all values is still on the EEPROM and can be viewed with sim 22-1 or 22-6.
