[Error Code] MX-550N MFP showing up an error code f2-31 wont clear

My sharp is showing up the error code of f2-31. I have preformed a grain assessment and than forgot the code so I probably need to preform that again. I however after the failed grain assessment went ahead and cleared out foam roller and cleaned out both toner rollers and changed toner box and emptied out my overflow. I still don't understand whats going on with it. I have preformed a troubleshoot clear code and still having issues did i miss something by chance or after cleaning everything out should i rerun a grain assessment?


Also if anyone has this printers support and error code manual would be greatly appreciative for it. My CEO decided not to get one when he got this printer all those years ago before I got hired. Talk about a nimrod lol.

*UPDATE* pulled out roller and cleaned out sensor fully I used a can of air to clean it out to give it a good clean. After putting everything back and turning it on again im getting an f2-00 saying Toner concentration sensor open or abnormality. did i break into something ?

1st off how many pages on this unit. When was last time drum was replaced . You may want to start with a basic pm. Im not sure what roller you took out and cleaned with canned air,If you could be more specific

Why don't you call a tech and just get it fixed?

You didn't happen to open the front cover, lower the white panel that was released by 1 screw, then loosen a blue screw and remove a big black unit with lots of black powder and "clean"/dump it out did you?

go into service mode and run a 44-02 process control and see if it clears the error !

to get into service mode is as follows

M/c is on copy mode
enter P*C*
enter 44
enter 2
then touch execute
and you should get ok at the end.

F2-31 is a drum sensor error. F2-00 is a toner error which you probably caused by taking apart the toner box. You should probably call for service and bite the bullit.

thanks for the input guys sorry for delay int his been working on 200 different things with this. I'm giving up on this printer even my A+ skills and basic printers knowledge has pissed me off with this machine. With the CEO not willing to fork over the 15.00 for a repair manual so I can see a diagram whats wrong with out completely disassembling johnny 5 he can pay the tech. His fault for not listening to me 3 months ago when I told them to get the warranty and on call service technician for that small monthly fee.

When you place the call for service, make sure their techs carry developer. Just a thought.

Outdated post I know, but I recently encountered the exact f2-31 on this machine & I simply took the drum unit out, vacuumed it (i tend to take my time on that) & bingo! turns out there was a blockage on the sensor.
