hello guys we just sent out a NEW MXM453N to a client, they called about 2 days ago, said they got E7-03 Error code, i went today to check it out when i got at the client site the machine was powered up with the E7-03,i decided to try clearing the code with a simulation, upon trying to do that the operation panel was frozen no response, so i decided to power down and reboot the MFP, when i did that, the MFP was dead, no fans , no display onlay the green LED on the operation panel came on, i checked all the fuses in the psu Unit, reseated all the roms on the PRINTER Expansion Pwb, also the one on the PCU Pwb, i did not seem to have any luck, can someone point me in the right direction please?

Re: Dead MXM453N
I wonder if your DC pwb bit it. Check to see if your 5v, 12v, 3.3v and 24v lines are there. I attached a circut diagram of the DC pwb with the connectors and pins you can measure. Just keep clickin the pic, it will get bigger. This is in section 12-8 of the MXM503 service manual.
Since you do have a LED on i'd say your AC pwb is fine.
edit:
After re reading your post i doubt it would be dc pwb as the machine was frozen with display and then totally dead after reboot. Go for the hard drive first :PEvil will always triumph because good is dumb. -
Re: Dead MXM453N
The code leads to the HDD, so I would start with replacing that. I had the same model blow a memory chip with very similar symptoms. Look at the LED's on the MFP board. From what I remember, the MFP board should have 3 LED's lit next to the chips (one for each memory chip) , and one LED lit next to the SD card.
My machine would power up, no panel or function of any kind. After about a minute, the fan would kick on, but still completely dead.

Re: Dead MXM453N
thanks lot for the info guys, whats really strange about it, when i got to the client site the MFP was on with E7-03 code, when i tried to clear the code through sim, it noticed the display was frozen,so i tried switching off the MFP with both switches, then tried to reboot, nothing happen, no fans,no display etc...i tried even unplugging the HDD to see if it would at least boot up, still nothing,i will try to check for all the voltages on the DC pwb, i am also thinking that if the HDD is the problem,it should at least power up right?hopfully i can get to the bottom of this.Comment

Re: Dead MXM453N
We had something similar to this happen but we would get a blown fuse on DCPS. Wound up being the scan control PWB after we finally traced it down, had a short in it somewhere, changed it out and we were good to go.
Good luck.
