    H2-05 Error on MXB400P

We have four of these MXB400P printers in a college setting were they all have experienced H5-02 errors. The error will reset then run for any thing from 10 minutes to a couple days before error comes back.
We have replaced the fuser units, tried a new fuser wire harness and replaced the PCU pwb, updated firmware. All four printers are in the 500K to 800K copy range. Has anybody out there seen this? Sharp hasnt seen this problem.

I have an mx-3500 doing the same sort of things. Paper is getting curled up under the sesondary transfer belt 1 out of every 3-4 pages. the belt looks kind of loose and worn. I am thinking that is maybe where my problem is coming from. It was doing an accordian jam at the fuser when i first got there but that seems to not be happening at the moment. Assuming it has the same sort of set up,. how does your transfer belt on the door look?
This machine only has 130,000 pages on it but had a TA code and now has more problems.....gotta love sharp! lol

Since you have replaced all these parts and have the same issue on multiple machines, but in the same location I would look at a good power filter that handles power and data cable hook ups. If this is in a cooler part of the country, alot of these offices use portable heaters by each desk, I have seen these things cause copiers to throw these codes. Hope this helps.

Is it a H2-05 (thermistor open)? I can't find the other code in the book. One of our other offices was fighting with a machine doing this (H2 codes). The tech ended up replacing the fuser harness. After fishing every thing through he had a hell of a time plugging the harness back into the connector the fuser links up with which he thinks might of been the problem from the get go. I wonder if the frame has warped on yours a bit and your plug is not seating correctly. You could try shimming the connector out so there is more preasure on it when the fuser is in.

Just out of curiosity how are these machines holding up aside from the fuser code? The rated life on them is 300k.

We replaced the harness and still get error. Cycle the power and error goes away for a short while. I have considered the frame, though it looks to be labor intensive. Other than the short maint cycle the B400 hadn't been to problematic. Though hindsight we think we should have installed the DX B450 instead. Just as an aside these MXB400P's are sitting alongside MX 400P's and they are not having the problem. And they use the same fuser and harness.

We found that we had a bad batch of fusers( thermistor would go open after heating up for a couple minutes). They all had MXC32FU1 replaced and unfortunately we dont have the lot numbers. We ended up replacing the thermistor harness and all is well.
