    remote operation panel

    Hello fellow techs
I was wondering if anyone uses vnc to use the remote operation of the machine? I can use VNC just fine with the MX-2600N-MX-5001N machines. However, I can not get it to work with the new MX-2610-MX5111 machines. Has anyone else had this issue and figured out how to use it with these new machine? Thanks for any input!!!

it was under operation settings. Enable all the remote options down at the bottom of the page.

After enabling that setting it still wouldn't work for me. Probably have to get our head of IT here to open up an exception for it in the firewall, but it's no priority by any means here.

          Well done on your fix!

Hi our dealership is very new to Sharp could you explain how exactly you access the sharp via vnc please I assume you type in the machines ip address and a particular port number? I heard that you could vnc into these machines but could not find any documentation that explains exactly how you go about it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Go to the web page of the MFP. Go to system settings-operation settings-at the bottom of the page there is remote operation settings-enable all options for remote operation (should be 3 choices).
On your PC download VNC viewer. open it and type in the IP address-it will ask you for a password (default password is admin). Go to the machine and a box should have popped up that asks if you want to allow remote connection to the machine. Say yes, and now you should be able to view the operation panel of the MFP on your PC screen.
              Hope this helps!!!

PS if this doesn't work then you need to check your network firewall settings to make sure there is nothing blocking it.

Thank you Dustin that has cleared things up greatly. The VNC viewer program, is this a specific program found on the net or do you download it from the machines web interface? Sorry to sound thick but the only other machines I have had experience with logging in via VNC is KIP and they provide the software to do it.

Cool. On what machines does it work?
We have in the office, for example, the MX-M550N

If memory serves me correctly it works on all the MX series of machines. I have only tried it on the MX color boxes, and all those work.

I have never used a remote operation panel before nor VNC. Will this give me the ability to view and or assist my customer device remotely? Example: If my customer calls wanting to know how to use a special feature i can remote in and show them from my computer in my office?

That is exactly what it can do besides accessing test commands for troubleshooting purposes.
