Re: Sharp MX2310U-function of sending to e-mail
Judging from this post, and the fact you've never posted before, I'm going off the assumption you're an end user. The 2310U by default does not come with networking capabilities, and you're probably connected via USB currently. The only way you'll be doing anything regarding email with a non networked machine is via Sharpdesk, the utility CD that came with the copier.
Once it's installed you should have more freedom with the machine, albeit still quite limited compared to an N model.Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil? -
Re: Sharp MX2310U-function of sending to e-mail
The MX2310U does come with a network port and an IP address can be inputted for a CAT5 connection. The web page can thus be accessed and services can be set up for SMTP and address input. The machine will not PCL print, however, without the MXPB14 option installed. BUT, I could be totally off base with this."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment

This model have a TCP/IP port and have all functions but fax.I've perform the network installation with Sharpdesk. The MFP can print & scan via network but I don't succeed with send function (send to e-mail,desktop..).If you can help me with some directions what should i do.

Re: Sharp MX2310U-function of sending to e-mail
Well then, my apologies for being incorrect. As I said, it was just an assumption. Firstly, what OS are you on? Vista's native firewall is absolutely horrendous for denying the MFP of any activities, also dependent on what version of Sharpdesk you're attempting to run. As a general rule here I try to bypass Sharpdesk if at all possible, as it's really only a shell terminal, mostly useful for the OCR.
One thing I did is that I insert only the DNS address.Did I miss something?Comment

If not using Sharpdesk, you do need some more information.Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?Comment

With most ISPs closing down their public mail servers, you have to authenticate your email address through a mail server now, and send through port 587 with SSL enabled. Check the SMTP settings in the network settings menu option and make sure it's filled out there, rather than the initial page for network settings.Cthulhu for president!
