Fax over digital phone line(MXFXX1 & 2 and ARFX8 & 12)

I have MXFXX1 & MXFXX2 and ARFX8 & ARFX12; I was wondering if they are able to fax over digital lines. I understand that there used to be issues because VoIP were designed for speech. Nevertheless, I did not know if Sharp or someone else out there had fixed most issues with digital lines and VoIP.

The reason I ask is I have a customer looking into buying a machine and he has a digital phone line and I wanted to make sure that it was possible to reliability send and receive faxes on the machine.

This can be a pain sometimes, but I have found the following settings work very well:
-set the baud rate to 9600 for TX and RX
-turn off ECM
-change the coding, from JBIG to MMR. It is slightly slower but more reliable.
-with Sharp, make sure you use the two-line fax cord, not the four line cord.
