RED Reader, issues or maybe I'm not using it correctly

My boss put this program on my desk and said, "make this work"

So, here is the issues I am running into, when I receive an RED report report and go to open it up in RED Reader all it says is RED data. So, I dont know if I am missing something or if the program isn't working correctly or what?

That doesn't appear to be the newest version of RED Reader in your screenshot. I get the message "Remote E-Mail Diagnostic not enabled. Please check MFP Product Key for E-mail Alert and Status" from older machines that don't have a product key.

Something that bugs me: RED Reader emails jam codes, but they are coded into an obscure, unusable format. So for example 'APPD1_N' shows as something like '3A1F' or 'A8' with no way to translate. If anyone has that info it would be appreciated though.

Not sure why some convoluted reader and filetype needs to exist in the first place, for what are essentially just text files. All the important info provided by RED is already served by normal email alerts, more or less. Would be great if Sharps could just email a 22-6 already..

Edit: I see this thread got revived from 2012 .. lol
