Sharp ar-201 problem with fax operation after changing registration sensor

"Line status" is flashing and message in fax display is " CAN NOT PRINT PAPER OUT(A4R)". Fax operation was working before changing registration sensor and reinstalling popped retainer ring for upper tray feed shaft. Tried to cancel the print by pressing "clear" a message was supposed to appear so that I could press 1 and start but it didn't appear. If customer tries to send it says insert document and stays like that though document is loaded. I believe because line status is flashing and it wants to complete pending print of a reception. Any help is appreciated. Don't have fax boards to swap and test. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

I had machine on it's back when I had to access plate with 2 gears for upper feed shaft when replacing retainer ring.

If you want to delete the fax job in memory sim 66-10, fax image memory clear, should work.

Thanks Brewster. Wondering why it said Can Not Print Paper out(A4r) which is not optional size set up thru control panel. Also the P133 user program allows for reduction of a larger size than loaded so why wouldn't it just redusce onto 81/2 x11.? I will look into sim 66-10 but wondering if problem is beyond that as customer is a distance away, Fran

The sending fax may have slipped through the doc feeder indicating an odd size, or maybe he is sending an A4R size document????

Thanks Paul. I understand what you are saying but if the machine is set up in the p133 user program to reduce what is coming in to the paper that is available in tray then why would it require the message about the a4r paper. That is also a European size I believe so I have to wonder why the machine would even mention it. I am wondering if board problem. Frank

I tried sim 66 07 which prints out any images in memory and message stated there was no image in memory. I then did sim 66 10 which is used to clear images in memory . It initialized machine and when completed the "Line Status" was no longer flashing and the "Can not print paper out(A4R)" message was gone and display in normal standby mode.
I pressed speaker and there was a dial tone. However, machine was unable to receive(didn't ring ), and when trying to send the display requested to insert document though it was already inserted and the adf recognized that document was there.
I need to go back Monday morning and remove fax boards and display panel for one without fax display and trouble shoot in office. I will swap out E3 sort board in case something wrong with that and test that first before removing fax boards ,etc. Will keep you posted. Frank

Eb3 sort board is good. Removed fax boards from customer machine and put in ax AR201 in my place. Same problem. Have dial tone. Enter fax # and press start but fax display says insert document which is already inserted and recognized by machine as adf document i lite is on. I guess i have bad board but wondering how it happened unless fax firmware needs to be updated or reentered.
I am trying to figure out how this happened as i was there originally to change registration sensor and feed solenoid for lower tray. I had removed Eb3 board to access main board. At some point I had machine on its back to install c-clip to upper tray which was under machine when I was replacing registration sensor. It is possible that I ran machine to test registration sensor jam lite coming on every time after first page exited. I probably tested with sort board off which makes me wonder if that caused problem with fax as it is needed for fax option and may have confused machine. Any input is very much appreciated. Frank

After replacing fax motherboard(cpwbx0032) machine worked. I don't know if it could have reset itself ip a firmware update would have been used as I did not have the flash card adaptor and flash card to perform this. I have an Panasonic adaptor on its' way but no flash card. Not available a Sharp (discontinued). The flash card part # was ukog-0008-qszz and the PAnasonic id was BN-S04MF4C. I thought I would try it on old board even though machine is working now. Any info is appreciated. Frank
