What does Katun's kit for a 363 series have to do with color fuser units? We replace as a unit and don't rebuild as said above. Replace at 300k and life is good.

Katun sells a rebuild kit for these MX-M363/453/503 fusers - cost is $108. Throw in $15 for new bearings. Then pay yourself for rebuilding it. It's Green, It's called Money, and it goes into your pocket, not Sharp's. Besides, Katun's warranty is ironclad and better than Sharp's. Don't we throw enough crap into the waste stream?

    Hi,
#1 it costs more to rebuild these units that to replace them. The MX500FU1 costs $200 from Sharp the individual parts cost more than the entire unit. The MX500HK is $150,the MX410uh is $50 and a new web is $34 (total $234),not including the labor to perform the said rebuild.

#2 Worn rollers cause your prints/ copies to wrinkle.

#3 if rollers look good, and not wrinkling just replace your web as needed.

my recomendation, do not play with the fuser unit
its a safety issue here.replace when the counter demands it.
