    MX-3110N Dead Panel

I got a brand new Sharp MX-3110N cheap because the touch panel was dead but fans were running.
I went thru the entire Sharp Bulletin #TT-20351. All voltages checked out, so I ordered a MFP PWB and
it fired up the copier, the power lights come on but the display touch panel is still dead. Any suggestions?

How much memory in the machine? Had this happen with an MX5001 that was short a couple of memory chips.

    Good luck.

It has two memory sticks on the MFP PWB.
How many are they suppost to have?
I just noticed it has a Program rom but not a boot rom is it suppost to have two roms on the board or just one

Looks like you should have 2 (see item 26 and 27) We don't have one of these yet so not sure on the memory but you should have at least 1 - 500Mb memory and 1 - 1 Gb memory if the MX5001 is anything to go by.

        Good luck.

          Hallo,

I had the same problem, it was a faulty SD Card.

So did the SD card solved the problem?

Also check to see if the sd boot switch is in the on position.

Top left part of the MFP board there are 2 dip switches, one for update, other for SD boot. There has been a rash of faulty SD cards though.

The SD card did not fix the problem.
The copier is running now because of replacing the MFP PWB.
But the touchpad is still blank. The ready light comes on on the diplay but the touch pad is still dead.
I've replaced the MFP board and the SD card and the touch panel.

If you've replaced the SD card and the MFP PWB, try replacing the MFP OPE PWB for the op panel.
