I have a MX5500 that is leaving a light cyan (brush) mark on the back side of the 1st page out that goes all the way across the page (front to back of the 2nd transfer belt). It appears to be the residule toner from the contact point of the drum and developer while in idle. I have replaced the following from a working machine with no change in symptoms, cyan drum unit, cyan developer unit, primary transfer belt unit, secondary transfer belt unit. I can see the cyan streak on the 2nd transfer belt and it cleans itself off after the 1st page out. The machine has a data security kit and postscript. print and copy have the same symptom. Has anyone seen this?

If the band is pretty narrow, I'd check that the cyan laser shutter isn't stuck open. an example would also be niceWhere the heck is my spring hook? -
Re: MX5500 Cyan mark on back side of 1st page out
I have attached a sample of the prob. with a 64-5 printout scanned in duplex. the mark on the 2nd page is the cyan issue. The higher density blocks are the lead edge direction. It seems like the poblem might be cleaning bias or something of that nature, but why only cyan. It obviously is coming from the primary when no paper is present, it never happens again once the first page is printed. Only on the first page of each copy or print job.Attached FilesComment
