Sharp MX-M2600,M5001N Maintenance required extended life??

I know with Canon copiers it is typical that you can get 150-200% out of drums, Fixing parts, etc. I'm fairly new to sharp and I am curious if it is possible to get more life out of the parts than what is recommended by the manual. I know Developer and web cleaner are a must at or around the cycle end. What about drums, upper fixing roller, Lower fixing roller kit w/ thermistors, etc., Transfer roller, transfer belt......

It depends on customer, if they run much color you will need to do PMs on regular schedule. On the black and white units they will go furtherthan stated

From what I have seen on these models just replace and do PM as stated and forget about it. If you try to extend supplies you will run into call backs etc.

Transfer belts, run em till they explode. Check the gear on the back at PM times though on the main belt as it cracks when it gets old where the key goes through the shaft. Ive had belts go 500k.
If your busy and call backs cost you money, run the machine by the book. Some of the guys are finding you can double your black DV life. I don't see any reason why you can't get 100k on color DV as long as you keep your drums in good shape. Black drums you can probably steal a extra 20k out of them. Color drums tend to wear out premature because customers don't use enough color. Soon as you see wear on the ends change the drum. If the drum wears out it sucks all the DV out. Customer complaint will be faded out copies. That really sucks if you loose your color DV as it's expensive.

Same thing except the black drums i find are done at 150k.

Change your web at 150k copies. Replace the entire fuser at 300k copies. They want you to change the upper heat roller at 200k but thats dumb when you can replace the entire fuser cheaper. Just reset the upper heat roller counter when you do your 150k PM.

Put in Herc feed rollers in the trays. MX850RT. They are cheaper and last longer. Feed tires are the same through out the entire MX series. You can also use Herc DF rollers in the MX4101,5001.

You can change sim 21-01 and enter in your own PM times. Im not sure if it will adjust the drum/dv's etc. I just started experimenting with that now.

The Sharp MX series of copiers (MX283-503 black) (MX2600-5001 color) have been pretty dam good products in my opinion. Easy to service and they run well.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
