    MX-4111N and MX-5111N

We have been having some DV unit issues with these new machines. This morning, another cyan DV unit crapped out with a mere 85k on it. I order one. To my horror, it is back ordered until the end of July. Apparently I am not the only one with DV issues if they are back ordered for so long. Anyone else had issues with these DV units?

Yes I've had about 6 of these gone bad, on all six i just put in a new bag of developer but i have heard some instances of the whole unit needing changed. Big problem for Sharp at the minute they still dont know whats causing it..

I discovered a trick today. The 3 color DV units are the same except for the base guide. You can use any color DV unit, simply change the plastic guide on the base of the DV unit. On the 2610/3610, you can change the green plug on the rear of the unit.

What kind of issues are you haveing? We have been seeing the codes of f2-** i think. And thats not on machines that have been moved. Normally takeing out out toner and resetting seems to be working.

We had a rash of F2-40-43 when these came out. 13 to be exact on all colors. We found that the toner cart were binding. Of course, Sharp told us we were crazy and then issued a bulletin regarding turning the gear on the toner cart no more than 90 degrees, and to shake it up and down then side to side.
Yah, we are the crazy ones.
Firmware is V.6 now and one of the patches specifically addressed F2 errors.

We have had 2 cyan and one black fail. The cyan failed when the reading maxed out at 255. The black was right out of the box and coded out during setup.

I had a 4111 today with yellow everywhere and the drum literally destroyed. I have had 3 previous calls for yellow streaks on these machines. In those case, powdered drum and blade, reseated, and CQ was great. This one was a little different. Machine only has 35k on it with the color only at 3k! It is a new install, so drum and DV units are on the way.

New machines always seem to equate to new problems, and this one seems to be no different. Of course I took some photos...

Looks like the Dev chewed up the drum, no? I have heard of the charge on other machines arching out on the drum and causing a number of problems, on being large Dev build up on parts of the drum and Dev pulling. Really have no idea what might be the problem with these new models but just thought I would add to your trouble shooting process. It could for that matter be a bad developer box design not keeping the dev even across the board and slowly over building on the side or elsewhere, again not sure.

My cause was the end cap from a mx-27gusa had been fitted to a mx-31gusa

On Friday, we had a 3610, same thing, this time with the black DV and drum unit. The IT belt was nicked too on this one. This was only in a month and has 5k total on it. After installing a new drum, the drum unit started seizing up; the shaft on this unit is real tight so I lubed the s*%t out of it to keep them running until Monday morning. DV blade gap and readings/voltage all are normal so I will wait for my parts. I do like Sharps warranty system. Those parts will be there before 9am on Monday.
