The customer rang this morning reporting that they couldnt photocopy but it was printing fine. I arrived updated firmware via network it updated the boot and mfp as far as I can see the scanner and pcu where up to date. still it displayed please wait I tried board check flash but got result ng fpdl-52 but cannot see what this relates to I unseated cleaned and reseated all flash roms and checked connection on pcu mfp and scanner board to no avail, I dont have any spare boards or roms so was going to order a scanner flash card and pcu flash card does anyone have any better suggestions

I get the NG when I check the flash ROMs on this series periodically, I normally reseat and try again and it normally works for me. Make sure that you have the correct version upgrade since there is a u, n and m version! Did you happen to test the hard drive?

I hadnt tested the hard drive but will now the firmware upgrade worked fine, I only got that code when testing the flash rom and wondered what it meant have reseated the flash roms a few times. It just seems strange that everything seems to work apart from the copy and scan functions I can change all the settings like duplex tray select its printing fine just a please wait message on the copy screenComment

I haven't been able to find out anything about the NG on the flash ROM's, you would think that Sharp would have these right there for the techs. Are you trying to use the document feeder and then getting the please wait? I seem to remember something about please wait and using the DF but can't seem to find it right now! I'll keep looking when I get to work to see what I can find. Have you tried a copy off of the glass?

Maybe you have a issue in the cables conetion from dspf/print.
try which bil said, a copy from the glass, if work ok, of sure you have
a harness issue.
