    Sharp MX-3110

i have a brand new mx-3110n. this copier kept giving codes. my great tech took the boards out to swap with another older copier. after a couple adjustments the copier worked. after a few weeks i go to this copier to get the internal serial #. low and behold thay did not match. hear is the kicker; the old copier went back to the leasing company with the new boards in them. the lease company sent this copier over seas. my issue is not so much the serial # but i now have a new copier with over 100k on it.

Is there a way to reset all counterrs to new factory settings?

    Help!!!

You are pretty much screwed John. You do not swap boards of color machines without changing the eeproms (this is where to s/n are stored for each machine). I don't know how you were able to get machine running without error codes. There is a procedure to correct mismatched s/n, but it requires sending the eeproms and a photo of the s/n on the tag to Sharp. Two to three weeks turnaround time.
(resetting counters is like resetting the odometer on a car and I'm not sure this would qualify you to do that.)
