Sharp FO-DC535 with scan kit - data light stays on, will not print incoming faxes

Machine's data light is coming on and staying on after a scan to Sharpdesk is made. The scan is successful but when faxes are received after a scan, they will not print out until the machine is power cycled. Once the faxes that were in memory print out, everything is fine until the next scan. The data light is supposed to indicate an incoming print job from the network. As far as the customer's IT company knows, there should not be any print jobs coming to that machine. Using the print job cancel procedure at the machine, the data light goes off and any faxes in memory will print out but incoming faxes are still retained in memory until the machine is power cycled.

I made my own separate network, with no connection to the customer's nework and everything worked fine. Scans to my laptop's Sharpdesk came through and the data light never came on. Faxes mde after the scan printed out without intervention.

I don't know what the next step in troubleshooting should be. I don't know where a print job would be coming from, why it would be triggered by a network scan, why a print job would not print if there is one coming in.

I also am not clear what the difference is between the FO-NS2 Network Scanner Expansion Kit and the FO-LN1 PC-Fax Driver.

Any help would be appreciated. The machine is old enough that the customer is willing to replace the machine,I don't think it is a machine problem, andinquiring minds want to know.
