Hi guys, I have a customer with a MX2300, it throws a F1-15 and it's pretty intermittent. A month ago they called in, power cycle would not work. Drove 60 miles and the machine was working. I cleaned the sensors on the elevator motor behind the main board. They check out ok in sims when you raise the tray by hand. They have called back again saying it's doing the same thing. They can get 1 or 2 sheets of paper out then it pops the code. The tray is in the "up" position. You can run the tray up and down in test commands all day and it won't error out. The machine is running new firmware as this finisher originally had the staple harness fail and it was replaced.

Re: MX2300 F1-15 Inner Finisher
I had this code on an FN9 inner finisher a few months back. It turned out to be the lift gears for the exit tray. It would work fine in SIM mode and would appear every couple of weeks. With the lift tray in the uppermost position, give it a firm yank up. You should hear a pop as the gear teeth line up. It has been 3 months and the code has not come back.
Why do I have a feeling my first call tomorrow will be a F1-15 error code....?
Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!
