We have an AR-M550N with an AR-FX8 on it. It powers up normally, and comes to ready in copy mode. When you change to "Image Send" the message "PLEASE TURN POWER ON THE FAX SW." comes up. (There is no power switch on an AR-FX8). We have tried another FX8 with the same result. The power supply has been replaced in the copier.......didn't help. We've checked to see if there were any firmware updates, but didn't find anything. Aside from the fax message the machine works fine in all modes. All the voltages seem to be getting to the fax option, but am considering the harness inside the copier anyway just to eliminate it. Hoping someone here might have dealt with this before.

Re: AR-M550N Fax Power Issue
This is the closest that I've got:
"F6-00" error. "Fax Is Out Of Order." Fax to ICU communication error. Fax I/F cable to connector CN1 is damaged during delivery. Replace the fax I/F cable (QCNW-0219FCZZ), & MDMC PWB (CPWBN1587FCE1) or connector CN1 only (QSOCN0082FCZZ).
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: AR-M550N Fax Power Issue
When you swapped the kits, did you swap out the memory and the kit?
Use 22-10 to see if the machine recognizes the fax kit and fax memory.
When installing a new kit, 26-6, 66-2, and 66-10 have to be run.
Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!Comment

Re: AR-M550N Fax Power Issue
22-10 recognizes both the AR-FX8 and the MM9. Ran others to ensure I'm still in the USA, clear the soft switches, and image memory clear. Still the same result. Since we've used two different fax options with the same result I'm going to swap out the board with the MM9 (just in case tech of record hadn't) then start checking harnesses and connectors in the machine. Will try any idea someone happens to have since machine is in our shop (i will draw the line at cross-dressing and/or exorcism).Comment
