MX 3501N won't print color from a 64 bit machine

    Hi all,
I'm unable to get a customer's MX3501N to print color from a 64bit laptop. I have all the print access settings configured the same way as other laptops that aren't 64bit and those print fine. Am I missing something?
    Thanks

Are you using the 64 bit driver? PCL6 or PS? Do you have B/W checked in the colour tab of the printer preferences?

Yup, using the right driver and have the color checked. When we try to print color it just goes into the either.

If there was no user authentication it wouldn't print at all, just disappearing into the netherspace.

Sounds like you may have a corrupt driver, have you attempted to reinstall it?

I have not expressed myself correctly... Excuse the misunderstanding!
My English is not the best I think
I thought that you can disable Color Prints in a user profile.
For example, if the boss does not allow all his workforce to print in Color.

I think that you are not wrong with your opinion to reinstall Drivers...

Ah! Yes, you are correct. With user authentication enabled there are options to restrict certain users or groups of users to have B/W pages only. Might be another good thing to check out, assuming this machine has user authentication enabled.

If not, then I'd go back to reinstalling the drivers and see how that turns out.

No, I haven't tried to reinstall the driver. Yes, authentication is enabled, but I set up this user to print color. I'll have to try a reinstall. Thanks

I believe a group setting will supersede an individual user. If you have an exclusive B/W group as well as individual settings you may have to set the group of the user to none.

                  Good luck!

sometimes the program parameters override the driver parameters. make sure there isnt a color vs black and white/grayscale option in the program theyre printing from. i've had this happen before, it should be on the main print screen before going into the driver properties.
