I can't seem to find any references of a problem with this on sharpnet or ssap. Would you be able to share your bulletin? Also, have you considered the paper at fault?

Blow out your PPD 1/2 sensors with a can of air and see if your problem gets better, else I would try some different paper.

Use sim 23 to check for repetitive jams. If cleaning the ppd2 sensor and reflects doesn't work, replace the ppd2 sensor, I myself have had several ppd2 sensors in the MX series (Color and BW) fail, usually a failing sensor will work for a while and will stop changing state when the sensor flakes out. If you can catch the machine in a repeat jamming state, test the sensor in sim 30, (open door, wave hand in front of sensor), make sure it changes state. Past that, remove the Registration unit and check for stuck labels or label residue, they love to stick behind the guides of the registration roller. If you are in a pinch, I've used registration sensors from the arm350,455, MX350 series as replacements (part machs) same sensor just leaded.

hmm,the strange thing is, its only happens with the first cassette which has 81/2x11 paper, so i am thinking the customer paper can be an issue, there are2 other trays and they work perfectly, therefore the other paper trays are using the same paper path and the sensors, so i'll have to try some different paper today when i return to the customer.

Ive also had that sensor fail as Nachoman said. Ive had a MXM283 go down, paper keeps jamming at the reg roller. You can test the sensor in sims, it works fine. I wiggled the sensor around, cleaned it off and it started working again. 2 days later it started to jam again.

I think they changed the sensor from a long focus to a short focus. I can't find the bulletin but if i remember they changed the sensor and the little plate that holds the sensor as it's a bit shorter now.
