    Scanning option Not Installed MXM260N

    hello guys, i have a client that called me telling me that when they try to scan from there MFP, they would get scanner option not installed, i did the setup with product key and stuff,couple mths ago and everything was ok,now its not seeing the scanner option,can someone help me out with this one?thanks again

    I once had a customer disable it in the key operator programs on a different model. Or they may have played with the product key window. Customers can be a real pain. Once got a call from a customer reporting the display "switched itself" to french!

      Run SIM 22-10. It will list all options installed on the machine. You can verify that the option is still detected by the machine.

        Check the memory on the print pwb. If the memory is removed or goes bad it will show the scan not available.

          i got some more information from the client, the never had a product key for the NSX1 scanner kit, i even tried to put the MFP in demo scan, no luck, the client did more than 500 scans already,i hope the Memory stick is not dead,i reseated it as well no luck,it was working fine a couple off weeks ago, i told the client they may have to get the product key again, so i can try to put it in.

          edit:sim22-10 says its NOT installed.

            If the client did 500 scans in demo mode, that is the end of it, they will have to purchase the scanner option.
