Sharp 4111 smudge line on duplex

We have a Sharp 4111 color copier that is leaving a smudge line on the back 2 inchs from the end of the page. It's also happening mostly on glossy paper although it does also happen on regular stock as well.

Go into System Settings, Device Control, Fuser Control Settings and set paper to 23+-28. At the machine make sure it is set to glossy or heavy paper 1. Being that there is no glossy selection in the drop down of the print driver, select heavy paper 1. You can also enter simulation and drop the fuser temp for that paper type by 8-10 points. The fuser is designed to put a glossy sheen on all prints and with glossy paper, you tend to get residual image.

Yes I am running it on thick 1 and I am pretty sure it's fuser related but I was thinking it might need to turn up the temp but that didn't work so I will try turning it down.
      Thanks!

you should change the fuser setting in the device control section as stated above. also....make sure you have done the mod to the fuser reguacrding the black side mod piece. pm me if you want the bulletin. I would also suggest you check the fuser belt closely for damage. if you have NOT done the mod it will most likely fail very soon and its not pretty. sharp is not warranting belts that fail early unless you can prove you have done the mod. period. also update the firmware. there were a few process control changes. current version is 7.01 or 7. something. let me know if you need that. another thing to check....take off the black covers on the fuser, and verify that the tension springs are in the proper grooves. i have seen these become dislodged when the mfp was moved causing wierd cq problems. btw i am fully certified on this model and work for a large dealer with a bunch of these in the field.
