    [Error Code] Sharp AR-164 "H4"

Hi our copy machine at our small office is not working. If you can help me be the one who saves the day I would appreciate it!
On startup it just displays the error: "H4" (flashes an 'h' and then a '4', over and over).

I have looked around online to no avail.
Tried reset codes, none appear to be the correct ones.
What is needed to be done with this machine?

For starters, if you hold the start key it will display the other half of your error code. Chances are with an H4 code there may be some dirt on a thermistor or a bad connection to a board.

I'm going to assume you're an end user looking to play hero in the office, and I can applaud the willingness to try, but perhaps it might be better in the long run to have a trained technician inspect it and make sure there's nothing wrong with the fuser and/or boards.

If you really wanted to learn I'm sure Paul would be willing to sell you a service manual for $12.77 and it would tell you everything you need to know about resetting that code - but just be careful not to play around with some of the other settings.

When holding down the start key it displays: "00" (two zeros)

Well unless the two zeros help you out, I suppose you're right. Unless, you can advise me something further to try. One time I figured out, and when I say figured out, I mean 'googled', how to reset the toner cartridges on our regular printer when it was saying we needed to replace them and now they last 2-3x longer. So, I'm the one who is supposed to figure this stuff out lol

H4-00 tells us that the heat roller is being read at a lower temperature than required for operations. The simplest thing I would be able to suggest would be to enter the sim mode and attempt to cancel the error code - if it persists, then a technician will be required.
