    Poor fusing MX-4501

Bit of a long winded one this so bear with me,

A customer has been having fusing problems for quite a while now intermitantly when using headed paper and sometimes on plain. They say it seems to happen mostly in the morning when doing mail merges 150 plus, they do very little colour.

So far Ive changed the: Thermistors, Thermostats, all three lamps and the main harness. The upper and lower heat rollers look fine and have about 60k on them

Also I should say the firmware is upto date and the poor fusing tech bulletin also there are no error codes appearing.

maybe the paper collects dampness over night,
try brand new rim out of the box.

    good luck

      Re: Poor fusing MX-4501

We had one fuser where the tension or rather spacing between rollers from one end to the other was slightly different. Caused intermit fusing issues (MOSTLY ON ONE SIDE OF PAGE) especially after a number of copies and the heat transfer was different from one end to other. We were not able to correct it. HOWEVER, once we put in a different fuser, the issue has never come back.

I was thinking along those lines with the fuser. Didnt have a spare to swap yet. Really dont think its the paper as its happening on plain and letter head and they have a MX5001 running with no problems
