We just placed a new MXM850 and with less than 500K are having troubles with the doc feeder. As long as 3 or less copies are fed through the feeder, everything is fine (simplex or duplex). If more than 3 pages are fed, the forth page stops over SPPD5, 6 and 7 and gives a SPOD error. The page will stop exactly the same spot each time on the forth page - yes, the firmware is the latest and has been re-flashed again. We are about to replace the whole doc feeder at this time unless we have some help from you.

Re: Hercules Doc Feed trouble
I won't be able to look at this for awhile, busier than shite right now. I did get word from a reliable source who mentioned a sluggish sensor return spring is most likely the fault. I will post when I'm able to give a fix."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment

Re: Hercules Doc Feed trouble
Test all the sensors and clutches in SIM mode. Verify they are actualy working correctly. Is there any Lag when the three sheets are being fed? it sounds like from your description that there is a timing issue from either a faulty sensor or clutch, I have over 20 of these in my territory and have never had to replace a entire doc feeder. Good LuckComment

Re: Hercules Doc Feed trouble Update
Update on repair; ran TC 7 with misfeed disabled and it fed a stack of paper; doc feed sensors were rotated to see if symptoms changed, still got SPOD_N jams;
switched doc feed control pwb with a lease return (8 million copies) and it worked great."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment
