I have been getting a recurring error code of L4-06 on a MXB401. I have first replaced the transfer belt unit and the problem went away for a few days but came right back. I found in a tech bulletin to try replacing both clutches on the main drive unit with the updated clutches and I did that along with and updating the firmware. This corrected the problem for a whole month and they never once got the error and then yesterday it popped back up. I went out and fooled with it and found that everytime the machine shuts down either by going to sleep or by turning it off and back on the L4-06 pops up and you open the front door and the lever on the transfer belt will be upside down. Then I will powercycle the machine again and it circles back around to the correct position and it works until the machine falls asleep again. I have attached pictures of the lever in both positions. Anyone else run across this issue???Right Position.jpgWrong Position.jpg

I've had this error when the waste toner was not fully seated causing that disc on the front of the transfer belt to catch.Comment

Re: MXB401 error L4-06
I've seen the 1TUD_CL and/or 1TUD_K sensors cause this as well. Their location is listed in the Service Manual in assembly and disassembly 10-39. I've also had the harness located behind the fusing unit(upper right) come loose. I've also had to replace the Primary transfer unit to get rid of this. Those clutches were more of a 401 fix fyi. Hasn't been a solution for me yet, anyways.Comment
