    SharpDesk Composer Problem - Opens for a second, then disappears

    Hello,

    I am having a problem with SharpDesk Composer. When I drag a scanned file to the Composer icon or the Print icon (set to Composer), the Imaging app starts, processes the file, then the Composer pane opens (bottom of Sharpdesk window) but closes (disappears) after less than a second.

    I do not know when this problem first occurred - must be a few months now. It used to work just fine - the files printed to Composer would appear in the Composer pane, I could rearrange them, then print the whole thing to PDF.

    I just reinstalled Sharpdesk (3.31c) on my Win 7 x64 system. This didn't help.

    I have a batch of 45 scans I need to organize and print to PDF, and I was hoping I could do this in Composer quickly.

    Any ideas?

    It sounds like sharpdesk is corrupted or being blocked by an anti-virus...

    I would completely remove sharpdesk from add/remove in control panel and then download the latest version from the sharp website and re-install..
    not too sure... does this only happen on the 1 computer? have you installed anything new recently or updated other programs / windows ?

      If you do try to re-install see if you can't find the CD version of Sharpdesk (version 3.3) instead of the update version. I think you will have better luck with your upgrade. The CD version currently works with all Window operating systems.

        I've made a fresh install of what I believe is the latest version - 3.31c. There is no downloadable installer on any Sharp website that I know of - please provide link if you have one. There's certainly nothing on the Sharp USA site, and the downloads that used to be available on the Sharp Australia are now gone.

        I don't have a CD. Sharp do not offer the recent versions of Sharpdesk for owners of "low-range" machines like mine, AR-M155. So I've made an .ISO image of a CD I borrowed last year (has v.3.1) which I use if I want to reinstall.

        I don't remember if Composer stopped showing after installing some new program or not. It isn't being blocked by the antivirus because the antivirus would have informed me if it did.

        I might try to reinstall again but now I'll wipe all data - I did leave the Network Scanner profiles on yesterday.

          Version 3.31 is the windows 7 64 bit upgrade and there have been some issues with it (I no longer us it at all). I'm sorry that I don't have the link for the CD version but there are several links that show up when you Google it. Check with your local Sharp dealer and they might have a copy you can use or have.
