    2700N Noise

I've been working on this machine lately that has been giving me a bit of trouble. The initial call was for noise, so I go check it out, and it sounds like a flat spot on the fuser roller. I come back to the shop grab a new fuser, go back put the fuser in and it doesn't fix the issue. I followed the noise as best as I could to the back of the machine. I opened the machine turned the power back on and listened to the noise again. The best I could narrow down the source of the noise was to the main drive area. I couldn't really go any further because of course I need the power on to hear it and when working in that area you need the power off. If anyone has any ideas I would be most grateful and I don't care what they are because I am stuck and anything helps.

I would use sim 6-1 to run the motors one at a time. When you figure what motor is on when you get the noise, you can then see what that motor drives. From there it is a process of isolating different sections. I have even removed gears to separate one part of a drive pack from spinning. Hope this helps.

We have had quite a few black developer units causing noise from the drive belt jumping on the back of the unit.

Same as what Sharpie said. Easiest solution is typically to replace the whole DV unit.
