    MX-4501N pulling black dv ???

What do you think about a 4501n that is sucking out all the black dv every 2-weeks ?

Have already swapped the following from a known good working machine :

Black dv unit, new dv & toner,
Black dr unit and charge unit,
    Large transfer belt assy.,

    Machine is still pulling dv

    Anyone got any suggestions, thanks

Symptom: Copy became pale in B&W after approximate 50~100k due to the black developer loss. If replace the black developer only, the trouble comes back very quickly.

Cause: The rear side of MC grid became contaminated by the toner dust from black Dev unit.

    Temporary measures:
    1. Clean the MC grid within the drum unit.
    2. Refer to the attached procedures to affix the DV seal upper (PSEL-0966FCZ1) onto the black DV unit cover upper. 3. Replace the black developer.

How many copies were on the used drum that was inserted? There's a chance it could still be the drum. Better to put in new/rebuilt parts than taking one directly from another machine, then perform the full colour calibration and see what your results are. Go to sim 44-28 and set "I" to "1" to cut down on your black process control too...
