    MX-5110 DV units

I have a MX-5110N that had the black developer unit start making an odd pattern on it. I ended up replacing the ITB unit, 2nd xfer unit, K MC Unit, K Drum unit and the K developer unit and developer. This was about two months ago and now I have the same pattern appearing on my cyan DV unit. I replaced the drum, MC, Cyan DV unit and Developer this time. Has anyone seen this in the field or know why it is happening? I have attached a sample of what is happening and the 22-6 (1 through 3) before I changed the Cyan unit out. The DV covers were updated btw. Firmware is current (6.0).

The most current version firmware is at 7.00 also have you checked the developer cover per TB MFP 559.
Charge corona gets dusted then starts to pull developer.

I did change the DV covers out before this problem occurred. The firmware is updated after this last trip, 6.0 was the firmware it had when this issue occured.

The DV material in the cyan has been sucked out. I had a black drained on a Monday, and back to empty by Wednesday. Change out the charge unit and then add new DV material. Anytime I see that pattern, it's charge and new DV material. See picks below, looks like the exact same pattern. Another thing you may want to check is that the tube from the toner cart to the DV unit is not clogged. The toner in these machines clumps very easily.

Makes sense Mojorolla. Anything I can do to help prevent this on my side other than having the end user shake the toner cartridge well when replacing it?

Deliver the toner yourself when they completely empty the bottle, shake it and install for them.

Seems obscenely tedious, but it's about the only way to guarantee the end-user won't cause further problems.

All jokes aside, I'm hoping we don't experience these kind of problems with our 2 MX-4111N units... Good luck in keeping the DV in the units here Horologydoc.

If you look at the retrofitted lids, they look very similar to the MX-3500 DV lids.

If you can't replace the drum unit, completely disassemble the drum unit and vacuum it out. The DV get pulled when the drum ground is weak.
