    Sharp AR 201/U2-40 code

Its starting to hapopen more frequently on machine, typically at power up.If I reset it may take 2 or 3 times before it works asnd goes into ready.I checked connectors on board, all seem ok. The only thing I noticed was that the power cord at plug into wall is very bent as it was an extremely tight fit behind table machine is on. I unplugged and moved table out from wall, relaxing pressure on power cable.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    THANK YOU< ANDY

I had one doing this, tried all the fixes Sharp said to do with no joy. Put it on a power filter, and have had no problems since.

I had this same thing happen to one (at least once a week) and after researching it, I found this Tech bulletin (AR-235-046R) ... Done what it said and it hasn't happened since... (6 months ago)

      -----------------------------------------------

Subject: Counter measures against U2-40 trouble due to power supply noise
The tech bulletin recommends soldering a capacitor (part# VCQYTU1HM233K) between JA4 and R315 on the power supply PWB.

      -----------------------------------------------

Worked for me... hope it helps...

Tried the capacitor and it did not work, not to say it will not for you, but I think these problems are caused by unsteady voltage from the outlet.

That's what we are using, it still doesn't correct all the voltage problems we encounter is some of these small towns, but ti does help.

If trouble is not cleared after checking power; see if the connector on rear frame that accepts the toner cartridge is bent. The bracket that holds the connector is held in place with one screw and is easliy bent if cartidges are inserted forcefully.
