Intermitant dirty copies/scans. perfect print. NO CODES

    Working on an Sharp Ar-m355N
This seems to happen (when it happens) at anytime, start shading the copies/scans and gets worse till it is almost un-readable. I Cked for errors, none listed. Properly power off and back on and it functions correctly. It will be very inconcistant. Some times it will go for several months and sometimes it will do it several times in a day. It's in an office on its own circuit with a surge protector, not near any outside doors, stable , clean enviroment.

I have inspected the cable and conectors, ran an ohms pin out on the same, removed scanner board and scanner interface board, inspected both boards. I see no defects (not that a visual inspection is worth much to a board) Cked ccd as what I can for that. Nothing noticable.
    Any body come across this.

    Sample included.

When was the last time a maintenance was performed on this copier? I've seen similar issues from a transfer roller not getting changed out.

Thanks for the reply. The full maint. was performed 46XXX ago. This happens to copies, scans and out bound faxes. Only when the scanner is used. Prints are always perfect. It seems somewhere in the scanner lies the issue. Looks the same when scaned to a smb or Sharp Desk and opened on a work station monitor. (when it decideds to mess up that is)

Perform the shading adjustment with sim 63-2. Be sure the white reference plate on the underside of the platen glass is clean and clear of debris.

May also be worth taking a look at any grounding wires. Could cause things like that to happen too.

You may want to make sure the ADF is closing correctly. Had an AR-M550 that did the same thing.

Try adjusting the cam under the scanner one way or the other just a little. I've had that cause many odd ball copy quality issues.
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.
