    FO 2080 scanning problems

    Hello all,
I have a couple of FO2080 machines that the customers are using to scan with to one USB computer. From the machine you select SC1 (or any of the others) and hit scan. After about 30 sec. the computer pops up a message saying that the machine is not connected, please check the cable. I have put a new cable on and it does the same thing. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled with same results. These machines are at 2 different customers and have what appears to be the same issue. If you have any words of wisdom please share as I am lost. Thanks in advance! (I hate USB scanners as there is not any troubleshooting you can do like network scanning.)

Download USB DeView from NirSoft View any installed/connected USB device on your system

Uninstall the drivers for the FO2080 and remove the appropriate USB connection for the FO2080. Reconnect and reinstall the drivers and try again. Next suggestion would be to try installing without anti-virus up if possible, and then finally trying to scan again with the AV disabled as well.

      Re: FO 2080 scanning problems

Here are the steps I take when I have to fix USB scanning for these (I assume that they are using ButtonManager and not doing the TWAIN pull scan):

      1. Delete/Uninstall Button Manager
      2. Unplug the copier from the PC (it is a USB connection)
      3. Restart the PC
      4. Edit the Registry following the instructions in the PDF included as an attachment (USBScanRegistry.PDF)
      5. Restart the computer
      6. Re-install Button Manager (make sure to run the install as Administrator)
      7. NOW plug in the USB cable from the copier to the computer
      8. Configure Button Manager destinations however the client likes and then test the scanning

      Good luck.

Quick question, was this actually working at one point and then stopped?
