    MX5111N Toner Dusting w/new covers

I have four MX5111n machines that are toner dusting so bad after 60k color(cust running 60-80 color a month) that it is getting behind the primary transfer belt, thay all have the new dv covers. No developer is being pulled that I can tell. Chkd/djusted Sim 8-1, 8-2, mag angle, doctor blade all are good.
dusting is so bad that i have to replace or blow out primary evey 60k .

I think it is poor toner. It clumps in the delivery tube and inside the DV units. I don't care what Sharp says. This is the same issue causing F2-4x codes. With all these "rocks" flying around inside the DV units, of course there is dusting. Check out the vids and pics below:

On top of all that, doing a full calibration goes a long way. Run 63-8 and 67-28 at the end of calibration to lock in targets.
All I can say is bring the Stretch and Dust clothes!!

Do you think it's coming that way or are the clumps developing in the machine?
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

Yes (is not just me)that pic looks the same as mine and then the toner dusting builds up on the back of the belt and rollers,
we have the new flash and do a full calibration , i have seen the lines one time .sharp has updated the lower dv seal thay say for that.
i just had 2 of them code a f2-65 and had to replace the cyan toners.i think ill dump the toner and look for the rocks.

I have now fixed 4 machines in this state with a kitchen strainer, best 5 bucks I ever spent! I also ALWAYS pull out the drum too and remove the toner feed tube on the back wall. 2 screws and it comes right out. I have found the largest chunks in this tube. It has no auger and is gravity fed. I posted a video of that too in the previous link.

As to gwaddles question; I sliced one open after a few F2-4x and 6x codes.

I was suprised at the size of the plastic sheet inside the cart. It is wider then the cart itself and the main shaft is not an auger but a flimsy, rectangular piece with holes in it. I saw no clumps in the cart itself. I think the toner is collecting in the shaft, it clumps due to excess heat, and when the DV sensor calls for toner, the full feed shaft floods the DV unit. I had a 5111 so full of toner the 25-1 reading was 34. This thing was stuffed solid with toner.

We've experienced this as well. I've seen the toner cartridges completely bound up from the toner chunks. I usually wind up bouncing the toners off a fairly solid surface multiple times then manually turning the toner drive gears in both directions. You can actually feel the toner breaking up inside. I just had to do it to a new MX4111N the day after delivery . I banged it off the floor a few times then shook the hell out of it then rotated the gears ,worked great !!!!!

Just thought I'd mention to check IDNC in the next few weeks. Rumor has it that there will be firmware for this issue, on the virgos, being released soon.
