MX-7001 VENUS stuck on "please wait"

Off lease machine came in, it came to ready and printed the meter page, then next day after turning on it got stuck at "warming up", I open the door and fuser is hot, close door then message is "please wait"...forever...I left it on overnight and still says "please wait" the next day.
I did the SIM 60 memory check - all OK
Reformat HDD - OK if I unplug HDD then get error
    Reload firmware - OK

But still "warming up", then "please wait" after door is opened after all that.

    Thanks for any help.

If it has the fax option, unplug it and the MM9 if it has it. Power on, and see if boots up. If it does, update firmware including the watermark firmware. Also check for any error codes; you may have a shading error that will prevent you from going ready to scan when documents are in the doc feeder.

Thermisters in fuser could be dirty, not in contact with the rollers, or bad. Test with TC 44-14 to see if any of the temps are off from defaults - open thermostats could cause this also without throwing codes. Let us know what you find.

        Thanks, will check it tomorrow.

Oh and forgot, when I go into the SEND screen it says READY TO SCAN.

The symptom I mentioned above was when documents were in the doc feeder, and the 'please wait' would stay on until I removed the documents, then it was ready to scan.
That problem was a shading error that didn't code out with an E7-03 until the next morning.

If it can scan, I think ZOOTECH is right on the money, something is wrong with the fuser. I have seen a cracked lamp end cause a machine to hang.

Also try 67-17 to dump print memory.

              UPDATE
I rebuilt the upper fuser and replaced the sub-heater assy which all came with new thermistors.
I turn machine on, still wait forever- left machine on overnight and BANG got a H4-02 code. Finally something - relates to TH_US which I believe is the sub-heater thermistor

I traced wiring and checked continuity - all good.

new symptom i was noticing a thumping sort of sound while machine was warming up. I believed it to be the sub-heater of the fuser camming in and out. I removed fuser, turned by hand and turned ok. Put back in machine and turned on again - now I got an L4-13 code that keeps coming back after resetting.

Had to leave shop after that so that's as far as I got

Check fuser temperature settings in sim 43-01
                change to

                A-190
                B-135
                C-160
                D-205
                E-200
                F-155
                G-190
                J-125
                K-180
                L-205

Re: MX-7001 VENUS stuck on "please wait"

I will try those settings...fingers crossed

FYI - I replaced the sensor behind the fuser for the camming of the sub-heater unit and the thumping is gone.
I replaced the PCU board and still same please wait....then H4-02
I put my fuser into a different MX7001 and it comes to ready. put my fuser back into my machine, turn on, wait an hour and get H4-02 error.

Sounds like HL pwb if the fuser doesn't code in another engine.

I had one with the same symptom. Turned out to be the scan PWB. The one that the ADF plugs into. I know, doesn't make sense, but if you have one, try it.

Have you checked fuser temperature in sim 44-13 to see if its getting to temperature
