    Sharp AR-5618n linux driver

    Happy new year!

I have sold a i few AR-5618n not great for networking but much greater than AR-5316 + printserver, and now with all the licensig for MS im asked for linux drivers. The Sharp support site doesen't provide this kind of drivers. Is there a way to make this machine atleast print from network?

You can use any generic HP printer driver and the copier will print, but as to your functionality, it will be very limited. This will only allow you to print. No duplexing (likely), no finishing, no sorting etc... It will just have print functionality if that's all that is desired.

You may also want to try the PPD driver file for Macs. I read somewhere on Sharp that this would also work for Linux systems. Worth a try anyway.

      Good luck.

When I search on the support site I get the PPD driver only for 5618, not for 5618N. I belive this is connected with the crapy networking board on the 5618N.
I will try the hp driver.
