    MX5111 - E7-03/U2-50

Fresh out of the box and E7-03 and U2-50 codes.

Copier does not have mirroring kit or data security kit. Only option it has is a finisher, which I removed to make sure it was not involved with the errors.

Tried new HDD. Did not work.

Tried flashing firmware and watermark. Appeared to work but returned as we were installing at clients office. E7-03 showed up and rebooted and got the CN update screen at boot up. Could not get into copier. Tried latest firmware, still with the CN update screen.

Ordered MFP PWB, same issue. Flash with latest firmware, same issue. Flash with ICU ver 6, CN update is gone, but E7-03 and U2-50 are back.

I am currently ordering the Mother PWB, has anyone else had this issue.

I do not have a like machine so troubleshooting is a little slow going.

    Re: MX5111 - E7-03/U2-50

Oops, It was a MX4111N, but same machine for most part.

I do not think the MFP PWB and Mother PWB had anything to do with issue.

Solved, so far, and believe it to be a combination of HDD, formatting HDD, bent frame around power connector and SD card.

The power connector goes behind MFP PWB frame and has a connection. The connection is screwed to MFP frame which was bent, causing a poor connection and in turn causing E7-03 and U2-50. Bent frame back to position, problem solved. Put original HDD back in and problem came back. So error was caused by bad HDD and poor connection.

So after bending frame, installing new HDD and formatting, everything worked fine, except you could not print 22-6 or 23-2 and could not log in as admin in web interface or system settings. Changed SD card and the machine appears to work fine for 2 days, printing, scanning and copying.
