    Scanning wireless from laptop

I have a school district that has seperate networks at each school. This one teacher goes from school to school scanning wireless. The IT administrator setup scanning at the middle school with his hostname. When he goes to the high school he can scan ok logging on to their wireless network and scan. When he goes back to the middle school his profile changed from hostname to IP address and he can not scan. All computers are setup DHCP with a 1 day license and not perferred. He can not use static only hostname. Is their something that can be done to lock the hostname into the MX-4110 so it doesn't change? If you need anymore info just ask. Thanks Ron

Just setup the network scanning on each copier to point to the hostname of the laptop. The hostname won't change, unless you change it or another device uses the same hostname and you end up with a conflict. If you have a conflict give his laptop a random hostname. If the copiers both point to \\hostname\path\to\scans then they should scan.

      FTP or SMB scanning?
Set the 4110 up to scan to email. Problem solved.

First I have to agree with Rolin, set up scan to email and problem solved. HOWEVER, if you are using Network Scanner Tool and some times it pulls IP instead of the host name that you want it to. Go into network scanner tool, scanners tab, select one of the scanners, properties, advanced, by default it is on Auto select change to USE HOST NAME and problem solved. You will need to change it for each scanner listed under the scanner tab, I have done this a couple of times and never been back. Hope this helps! Good Luck.
