    MX3100N 44-26 error

    Got a weird one guys,
Co-Worker of mine was working on an MX3100N that is over toning magenta. He ran 44-26 and gets an error M. Customer says the problem started right after replacing Magenta toner cart. Has anyone ever seen this or have any ideas? I know he has swapped the drums between colors and replace the transfer unit. Thanks in advance!

Dustin, take a look at TT-13944, it says to run 67-24 to bing the half tone correction to a acceptable level, then run 44-26. This worked for me once, when I got that error.
    Good luck, Dan.

      Thanks Dan
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

Ok I've still got the error m when I run 44-26. I've tried everything everybody said with no effect. All the service manual says is "High density process control error" Not a big help. Any other suggestions or a translation of what the service manual says? Thanks.

Longshot, but check your main drive gear of the primary transfer belt. The ol' ace in the hole of any MX colour machine... That gear breaking will do ANYTHING. If it can't move the patches on the belt correctly, it'll give an error.

Haven't had this error specifically so not much more I can contribute other than that. Perhaps check your toner transfer pipes in the back of the machine as well?
Cthulhu for president! Why settle for the lesser evil?

Good thought. I checked the gear first thing and even changed the transfer unit. You're right though, that gear can cause anything. Thanks

Run 44-27 first to clear out the previous setup, then run 44-26. You may also want to check your procon sensor or sensor cover is not dirty.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

Thanks. Somebody else told us this morning to do that and it fixed it. Thanks for the help.
