    [Misc] MX-M363

We have two MX-M363 that make a squeking noise. One of the machines has a FNX9 finisher the other one does not. The noise only apears to happen at the end of a copy job.. We have greased the fuser bearings and oiled most of the bearing on the left side of the machine with no luck. The noise seems to be coming from the left side of the machine and does not do it all the time but enough to annoy the customer. Any Suggestions?

I've had an issue with a specific bushing on 2 separate 363's. Copied from my local forum for inter-office use..

"We've had 2 machines with a squeak in the PS roller area, will occur when pages feed consistently.

As I just spent 90 minutes playing "find the squeak" with a drive pack that mostly floats loosely, with very little fixed positions for any of the shafts the many gears ride on, I thought it would be helpful if I gave diagrams of where the bushing causing the issue is located.

The second image shows which bushing it is causing the problem, the first image shows which of the 4 visible bushings is the correct shaft to find the problem bushing as seen from the cover that holds them in place.

Note that in the second image, I have the bushing located in the back circled, as that was the problem bushing. Original lubrication on the front end bushings yielded no change, I had to put a small flat tipped screwdriver onto the bushing and wedge it between the bushing and the C-clip that held the bushing in place, and then put a drop of oil onto the screwdriver to send it where it needed to go without removing the rear bushing from its slot. This made it much easier to put the cover back on without disturbing any of the other free-floating shafts.

Hopefully this helps someone else if they get this issue."

Paper Feed Drive Section, page 69/121 or labeled as page 68.

I should have mentioned my own squeak was exactly the same as yours, the paper would feed first and squeak after.

Left hand squeaks w/ inboard finisher.. (Loud and Annoying)
All of the sharp inboard finishers can squeak, from the 3501, and on style (especially in dusty enviroments). They only squeak when the finisher is currently handling paper (finisher exit). Its the main bundle roller shaft and all of the idle/smaill frame parts riding on it. Lube with light oil, ALL of them, including bushings.

The PFD unit can cause lower right hand squeaks too, I usually take the PFD drive unit apart, and tend to find alot of dried up grease/gear dust on the shafts. Plus it is pretty easy to take apart and clean. Run your PFD motor in sim 6 to help identify. I'd clean the unit out instead of just lubing bushings, (if you are going to take the effort to take the back cover off) The 2 teir gear in the unit is one to focus on.

Sounds like you have one of each by your post.

there are two plastic rollers on the bottom of the door on the right that squeak, also the fuser drive gear will squeak.
